Why you need insurance on your AirPods
Imagine this; you’re having a good day and decide to treat either yourself or a loved one (Christmas is always around the corner after all) … what do you buy? Since their introduction to Apple’s ecosystem of products in late 2016, it’s safe to say that AirPods have been at the top of many a wish list. At Arma Karma we recognise that not everyone shares our tech expertise, so we took the liberty of finding everything you need to know about your new AirPods.

How much do they cost?
Apple’s current line-up of AirPods consists of 2nd and 3rd generations of the in-ear headphones that are sold alongside the AirPods Pro and the AirPods Max. Because of the varying features between these different headphones such as the noise cancelling on the Pro’s and the Max being a larger, over-ear headphone their prices vary:
AirPods (2nd Generation) – £119
AirPods (3rd Generation) – £169
AirPods Pro – £219
AirPods Max – £549
I know what you’re thinking, is it sensible to spend so much money on an accessory without knowing the risks? Don’t worry, we’ve already thought about it just so you don’t have to.
What are the common issues?
Anyone who’s purchased AirPods before will have heard comments such as ‘how do you not lose them’ or ‘how have you not broken them’, and the reality is, sometimes you do. We’re only human, there’s a chance you could leave them on the bus or (God forbid) have them stolen; while the chances of losing your AirPods is mitigated by Apple’s Find My app, it has been known for its limitations. There is a similar issue in the case of damaging your AirPods; while it is not hard to get an Apple repair it can be pricey, so much so that it can make more sense to just replace them with a new pair. In our opinion; prepare for the worst, and hope for the best.
What is the solution?
There’s nothing worse than losing something valuable to us and then having to go on in regret. If you want to be prepared for the worst when it comes to AirPods it’s always best to have them insured, and who better to do that with than your friends here at Arma Karma? Can’t think of anyone? I thought not.
